Study New York

Study New York Logo

Study New York was officially formed in July 2009 as a consortium of colleges, universities, and other accredited educational institutions in New York State.

The mission of Study New York is to position New York State as the destination of choice for students from around the world, thereby improving the visibility and global competitiveness of the state's institutions of higher learning.

Specific goals of the consortium:

  • to develop, promote, and distribute marketing materials that serve the common needs of all members;
  • to collaborate on international student recruitment events; and
  • to deploy web-based tools to support and advance such activities.

 SUNY and Study New York

The State University of New York (SUNY) is one of the key liaisons to the Board of Directors of Study New York.    Liaisons also include the City University of New York (CUNY), the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU), the U.S. Department of Commerce and the New York State Department of Economic Development.

Several SUNY campuses were founding members of Study New York and continue to form a strong representation in the membership.  For more information about Study New York or to become a member institution, please visit the web site at
