Spain :: Santander Scholars

SANTANDER-SOVEREIGN BANK offers SUNY SCHOLARSHIP for STUDY ABROAD IN SPAIN. The SUNY-CRUE Language Teacher Training Partnership scholarship program offered by SANTANDER-SOVEREIGN BANK, through its Santander Universities Global Division, will provide up to 10 scholarships for one academic year of study in Spain beginning in Fall 2012.

Program Locations:

Selected students will be placed at one of the following four partner universities: Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela and Universidad de Cantabria.

Costs covered by the scholarship include:

• Roundtrip airfare;
• Short-term intensive language immersion instruction where applicable, and;
• Room and board stipend.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Students enrolled in an appropriate Bachelor’s program at any SUNY campus;
• Advanced- intermediate Spanish language proficiency appropriate for enrollment in university courses conducted in Spanish;
• Majoring in Spanish language, Spanish education, bilingual education, or related field;
• Junior or senior standing at time of travel (exceptions may be made for sophomores), and;
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  

Students with financial need are encouraged to apply

Application Deadline:

Students interested in this program must submit the application to the Study Abroad Office at their campus no later than MARCH 1, 2012.
