MODELS OF TEAM TEACHING: * Will they adopt a Traditional Team Teaching approach in which both share the instruction of content and skills to all students? If so, how will they divide classroom preparation, instruction, and evaluation? * Will they use Complimentary/Supportive Instruction? That is to say, one teacher will be responsible for teaching content while the other monitors students through related activities, readings, discussions, etc. * Will the course be delivered through Parallel Instruction in which classes will be divided into two groups with each instructor responsible for teaching the same material simultaneously and sharing findings with each other’s group? Another related method would be to have the students work as one entity but both teachers would individually review and comment on students’ work. * Are students needs different, thereby requiring the formation of two groups? In a Differentiated Split Class, students are also divided into two groups because of differing needs. Instruction responds to those differences. This may be helpful where, for example, differences in language ability might require more attention and monitoring as well as additional instruction.
